Now we have another week here, and it's the same feeling I have known for more than twenty years and love . Upon arrival from Hamburg, it was back again, this special Baltic summer feeling: On the median of the highway blooming wild roses - beautiful red and green traces from the same leading up to the Baltic Sea. All around the summer landscape in bright shades of green, a few horses, some cows can be seen. In the bright blue sky, white clouds are less, the closer we come to the Baltic Sea. And finally - the curve where the highway is over and we see the first time marveling over the blue sea and saw afar the Fehmarn bridge.
It's always the same feeling: A promising early summer, which gives us the anticipation of carefree summer days and summer nights. My heart beats violently every time when we get closer to the bridge. Then the mainland to an end and we look at the glittering blue and silver Baltic Sea with the white Sail boats - in the distance you can see the three towers on the south beach. And if you're already on the island, look out over the flat country to the St. Nicholas Church in Burg, we affectionately the "big church" called. 
Fehmarn - for me that was love at first sight when I in the fall of 1977 for the first time there was - and later at Pentecost, Easter, and at some point we discovered the summer on Fehmarn. That was all long before Hans Christian's time I went there with my mother. She felt Fehmarn very well because it came from the Baltic Sea - from Gdansk. She was reminded of their lost homeland. She painted beautiful pictures of our island. And she has always from the wonderful summers told that she has lived as a child and young girls from the Baltic Sea. 
1989, we in the summer in Mallorca, because I did not want the holidays sometimes be a time to reach me recover from work stress. I just wanted to rest, sun, sea and blue sky. But in Mallorca, it was mainly loud and hot. Too hot. We broke off this vacation and traveled for a few days after Fehmarn. And since I had found my "paradise" - not too hot with sun, sea and blue sky, and also very quiet. In 1993 I bought a small apartment on the beach because I thought when I'm retired, I would be for weeks on Fehmarn. I had not thought at that time that this would be so soon. Just before the turn of 1997/98 I came up with Hans Christian for the first time to Fehmarn. He still remembers that he had heart palpitations on the journey from Hamburg to Fehmarn, before our first vacation together, and how he felt at the motel Buddikate that he had lost his head cold. And I still remember the heart palpitations that I had when we drove across the alley to the beach south beach. That was really a way to happiness: My two great loves were well matched, and so we stayed together.
Hans Christian likes it warm in the summer. I had always told him that beautiful summer of 1994, the first in their own homes, for nights when you could sit on the balcony. He has never believed me, for his first summer vacations were on Fehmarn rather cool. 2003 was again such a beautiful summer. Every evening we sat by the light of a wind light until well after midnight on the balcony. We watched the moonlight on the water, listened to the night sounds, returning boats, lighthouses and watch fireworks saw somewhere on the opposite side ...
In Bamberg there is often very hot and humid summer days that I can only bear bad. And so I long always in May in the Baltic Sea. This year, the June in Bamberg was again very hot, alternating with very cool rainy days. From the adjacent construction sites we got from morning to night with noise and dust. could we just use our beautiful balcony in the evening. And since signed up again my old longing for the Fehmarn-summer.
Now we are here for a week. Yesterday I sat up after 23 clock on the balcony. It was still light, although the sun had gone down. Now and then we heard a seagull screech, but very temperate. I was again out with the trash. Then I saw the red fireball sinking in the distance. From our balcony we see not only the end of October / early November when the sun is almost over with.
is wonderful for days here Weather, as I love it. Nice and warm but a cool breeze. The sky is blue, the air like silk, the sea sparkles in the sunshine as the Mediterranean. Afternoon I was in town, Hans Christian wanted to watch football. I had to get some more and wanted to buy something for dinner on the Farm: asparagus, potatoes, ham, wine and strawberries. For the football game the evening we wanted to see them work. By 16 clock you can go to the beach weather yet in the city. As the summer holiday season has not started yet, you will even find a parking space. From 17 clock there is already congestion, because people then drive away from the beach. But since I was already on the way back.
The nights are cool, currently is a full moon illuminating the room as bright as day. Towards morning I wake up usually, it's hell for a long time I open the balcony door and screeching of the gulls in the morning I sleep wonderfully on. After getting up, I walk through the meadow to the beach promenade, past the houses in the beach chair rental, and get fresh bread from the baker. Then we have breakfast in peace, facing this summer paradise surrounded the glittering Baltic Sea, the blue sky, every now and fishing boats of a huge flock of seagulls.
Meanwhile, I love the early summer of Fehmarn more than other seasons. In any case, as long as no mosquitoes are there.
