Christmas in Neujellingsdorf
yesterday at the weekly market I have always wished a Merry Christmas day, so be it our first Christmas on Fehmarn! We have already celebrated Christmas, seven years before We moved to Bamberg. The small apartment on the south beach was our retreat, we had placed there a tiny Christmas tree and our beautiful old crib. Why write not miss Christmas, why do you get a stress such that? I wanted to send my calendar stories, a kind of private annual review, as Christmas gifts. Especially the friends who have no Internet, but should finally learn that we now live entirely on Fehmarn. But on Tuesday I had to know that I would not make it to write the stories calendar finished and to print a brochure. The whole day was the installer was there to do the remaining work in the bathrooms, then before the house was cleaned. I wrote some letters, and produced a stack of mail that should go from Fehmarn to many places in Germany, Italy and America. Some got my photo calendar, my other new book or my blog on the move. Yesterday afternoon I was relieved right when the cleaning ladies were ready. They were fast and very silent, except the vacuum one has heard anything. And they take into account the Hans Christian, who slept longer. Finally everything is clean! I wanted the Christmas tree up after cleaning, and finally not that how else until the evening of the 24th December. Our Christmas tree was already a few days in the garden shed, I had brought from the adjacent nursery. But then came the therapist, we sat comfortably together at tea, before she treated Hans Christian, as I wrote my Christmas emails. As she drove away about 16:30 clock, it began to snow. The wind had already been quite violent.
This morning was then very dense snow and storm. Well, actually we had everything here, but I should have the meat for Christmas dinner from the butcher to pick up in rural churches. I called them and asked if I could tomorrow to pick up the meat. But they thought the snow would probably still going on. So I drove off, the snow on the car was pretty solid, an icy wind blew from the northeast. The neighbor boy was swept on our driveway snow, so I could drive off.
But the 2 km to country churches! The small road was barely visible, I looked straight ahead, so as not to veer off the road. Everything was white, could not recognize one side of the road. At 30 km / h, I came forward slowly. Again and again came gusts, and when I finally saw the sign for facilitating rural churches, the car was pushed to the right of the wind. Fortunately, I was not off the road and reached the butcher.
I bought the meat and took something from the bakery, I went straight back. A few hundred yards in front of me drove two cars, which was reassuring, and I calmed myself and talked to me good, I'd make it back home. Right in the middle is a small town with a farm, when suddenly a deer ran in front of me on the street. Again and again drove the snow squalls on the road, on the radio they were talking about wind speeds over 70 km / h. When I got home I pulled into a long Christmas tree from the garden shed and poured out even more food for the birds. Then I wanted to put the tree between the fireplace and grand piano, we have such a practical Christmas tree stand for screw. But the tree was wrong, and when I wanted to loosen it again, it was jammed. The screw was probably a little rusty, I had trouble getting the tree to get out. The screw was also with the tongs hardly move. I called the nursery, but the did not stand. Drive to Castle I did not want to again, because the island has some roads were closed due to snow drifts. The boss wanted the nursery to me today to bring a new rack from the hardware store. But he has not come. Maybe tomorrow?
All this inspired me to not, and made myself a hot chocolate and phoned the first time with my girlfriend. Hans Christian slept until the afternoon, then I woke him up and we ate together, we bit, because I no longer liked to be alone. Afternoon call from a postal carrier, who came not to us. Why the package should it necessarily be here before Christmas? I will pick up in Petersburg, when the weather is better.
Then I played a few Christmas songs on the piano, which made us both courage. I assume that the tree will be tomorrow evening. We have never had such a beautiful Christmas tree! We will see our first Christmas here in Neujellingsdorf white Christmas, and very romantic, without any hassle or stress. It is a blessed rest here, we have nowhere to back tomorrow to still get something very important. Post is two days no longer come, but is it really so important? Our Christmas mood depends on it not.
is On television reported that the people on the highways, on Train stations and airports to wait for hours in the cold to have a faster way to go somewhere to below a certain Christmas gifts share and enjoy with their loved ones for Christmas dinner. Or to spend Christmas in sunny south. If you wait snowed in on a small village on Christmas, which is actually quite important. The last few nights were starry and the full moon almost as bright as day. One could imagine the story of the shepherds in the field very well. Now everything is thick and covered with fresh snow. Time here soon and then go there, that will not do so, we also do not want. We remember the basics: be together in the warm, eat and drink have to hear Christmas music and Christmas carols sing, look at the Buddenbrooks on TV, looking forward to the Christmas Eve. And feel the love that fills our lives.
Hans Christian said he would have no gift for me! But that's not important to me, he's doing better, and that's the most wonderful gift! On his birthday on the fourth Christmas he got from our friends very much support and encouragement, he considers it possible to someday walk again.
A friend called and we talked about a new book project - you can also stay on holidays next turn do not work, but looking forward to plan, test and make sketches. But most of all talk to each other, because we certainly hope that does not turn out phone and internet, despite the deep snow drifts and the stuck trains to Fehmarn. Emails to get the first say thank you again for the Christmas post. Sometimes it seems as if Christmas is already over. But tomorrow night it will be very quiet when the old song is heard by the silent night and the candles on our Christmas tree (hopefully) on fire.
I wish all my blog readers a Merry Christmas and thank you for reading the numerous comments and beautiful for all the Christmas wishes, which I have received.
