Fehmarn - The day before Christmas
beginning of winter in Neujellingsdorf on Monday called the man who I wanted to help with snow removal. But there was almost nothing to evacuate. Our therapist said as she was afraid of the snow. But in Neujellingsdorf was not much to notice. On Tuesday, the landscape looked very beautiful, large white areas in the sunshine, and get a wonderful Sunset. The beach avenue was white as snow - it was just beautiful. While there was "a little slippery," I drove very slowly on my "race track" on the country churches, for the small road between the fields was quite smooth. In the city, just before the practice of our family doctor, I did not come from the spot -. but since two nice men, my car have pushed
were blowing it straight from the rooftops, and so I have the courage to make our stove -.. with telephone support from my girlfriend because it was comfortably warm in our house on Wednesday then the fields were white, but our house cast shadows in the sunshine. I drove off brave, because I wanted to go shopping at the market in Castle. Well, on the corner in Neujellingsdorf where the wind is really on it, the road from the snow was blown over a bit. But I came through well, and back. on the market I heard that some dealers were not there because their villages were cut off from the outside world. It was blowing an icy northeast wind, and I hastened to get back home. In the evening I cooked a delicious potato soup that warmed us well. I called our neighbors who came late with the car. They said it was smooth, but it comes through well. As a precaution, I asked who I could call if I stayed put again.
was in the night I awake, listening to the storm. The house creaked and cracked it, it was unusual noises. The clouds drifted across the sky (we still have no curtains, so you can see from the bed, even the stars), and the very back, in the east, it was a bit bright, large, despite the darkness. I told myself that had been stopped at any storm again, and finally we were even in a gale of force 10 moved into our house. And so I fell asleep again.
on Thursday morning it was blowing very strong and I called our therapist in Lübeck, to tell her that she would prefer to stay home. She had also been in the police called and had her drive off discouraged. It was gale force 10, North-East wind, so very cold. And the wind swept over the fields and the roads between them, where they had hardly any visibility. On the corner were a few cars stuck in Neujellingsdorf, there was a tractor, and then it went away. That was the point with the snow bank, through which I had the day before, drove with verve. All that I have observed from our bathroom window on the first floor because I would not get the idea, start driving by car. For baking rolls were indeed in the house.
Sometime in the morning the storm abated, it was very quiet, and then it started to snow. Really nice thick flakes, it snowing for hours, I think there was thus 30 cm beautiful snow. Oh, that was comfortable in our house. Hans Christian was first in bed, he has really enjoyed. I checked our supplies: Because I wanted to lay in stocks for a week if we were once snowed in ... And now we were there (probably), the Post Office did not in any case and in general there was little traffic. I had not yet bought extra, but I thought we come from a few days. I really do not know whether we were snowed in fact. We might also come away from here by car, but we did not want.
afternoon I baked the first bread of my life - from a Cake mix, which I had bought earlier. Oh, how was it delicious, it smelled quite wonderful in our cozy kitchen. From the kitchen window I looked at the snow, and I had the feeling that the snow was soon arrived at the lower edge of the kitchen window (of course that was just my imagination, because of the large field behind it). Hans Christian came and we ate the fresh bread with butter, we drank a delicious mulled wine. And in the evening there was the second portion of the potato soup I had cooked.
After the potato soup it became warm and cozy in our kitchen, we made candles, I read Hans Christian story, we heard a little music, and then we ate a large orange and then Cookies - Fehmarn gingerbread. Until the package was all. Then there was chocolate balls and then ... some time at half past one we went to bed.
You know, it was Advent. We were (perhaps) by snow, but we have not suffered! Why, then complain and whine? In all, Germany is currently winter weather, while elsewhere it was much colder than here. The man at the post office in country churches was like, but snow is normal in winter, and wind is now time for the island. And he gave me a beautiful story for Advent.
I did just sorry that I do not Birdseed had bought. I saw a trail in the snow and saw a golden pheasant, sitting behind our house in the tree. I asked him through a cut apple. But then he probably had no appetite. Today I have set up a bird house and feed into it done. I have already seen a tit, a blackbird was sitting in the bush in front of the terrace did not trust himself to the food I had her there scattered.
Yesterday I geschippt first snow. My helper had called on Monday, but since nothing was evacuated. When I called him Thursday, his car was broken, and Friday he signed up as a precaution does not arise. So I put away my new snow shovel with the snow on our driveway, cleared away the car. And then I drove first to shop. It went quite well, although the road to country churches (my "race") was pretty icy. I just drove a little slower than usual so full of arrogance, I went through Castle by the harbor and then to buy fresh fish.
Unfortunately I had parked in a parking lot and came away again. Stuck in deep snow. A nice man took out my car and then it went again. In the harbor were visible even ice floes, and on the mainland, it had looked all morning pitch black. It snowed there incessantly. When I got off the car park, it began to snow again, I'm just gone. But then I went in peace and quiet in the supermarket and bought us some supplies. When I got home, it began to snow. But it has not brought much.
And today, there was quite beautiful weather, I made a long walk. Something so beautiful ... And beamed the boy next door because he had had three days, no school. So no need to panic ...
I wish you a great second advent!
Greetings from the snowy island sun
